Artist's Description
Slathered thickly with blues, greens, and grays, painted with plenty of impasto, especially on the windy white crests of the waves, to create rippling raised contours on the canvas surface. The waves appear to strongly ebb and flow, and the viewer can almost feel the surging power of the sea.
Dimensions of canvas: 9 inches (22.9 cm) high by 12 inches (30.5 cm) wide by 13/16 inches (2.1 cm) deep (side edges of this canvas left unpainted)
Windsor and Newton oil paints on Windsor and Newton stretched cotton canvas of 8-ounce natural cotton duck, triple-coated with acid-free sizing and two coats of their highly pigmented acrylic primer. Unvarnished.
